Why are companies using thermal imagery?
The thermal image, which is effectively a picture of thousands of surface temperature measurements, makes it easy to see where insulation is missing or air is leaking in or out of a building or after fabric failures such as thermal bridges and damp penetration.
Other benefits include:
- Quick, non-disruptive inspection
- Results easily shown in pictures
- Show compliance & sets benchmarks
- Saves on Energy Bills
What are some common causes of energy loss?
Insulation and cladding deficiencies create significant energy loss issues. The leakage pathways are often complex and difficult to follow, but thermographic imaging gives an opportunity to trace the problematic areas and allows our clients to take measures to patch or repair the layers affected.
Our thermal cameras identify trapped moisture problems which can cause hidden damage that spreads through underlying structures. Wet roofing insulation loses much of its R-rating, which means that heat can escape or enter the building much easier through wet insulating materials.
Ventilation & HVAC Systems
These systems are typically one of the biggest energy consumers within a facility. Studies indicate that commercial buildings with often experience energy losses from air leakage of as much as 33%.
What do we provide to our clients?
Thermal Survey Report
We create customised reports detailing the results found during the surveys. We provide both a hard and soft version of the report which allows our clients to share with colleagues to decide their next actions.
Thermal & Visual Imagery
Both thermal and visual images are edited are shot in high definition using our dual sensor camera. This gives our clients a practical view of the asset as well as the more detailed thermal view. We can also shoot both thermal and visual video inspections if required.
